Equal Exchange

Equal Exchange is a worker-owned cooperative that builds relationships between consumers and producers of fairly traded and organic coffee, tea, chocolate, and other foods. Below is an assortment of designs within the Equal Exchange brand I created for digital and print use to communicate stories of small farmers and social justice, environmental sustainability, and the passionate community working to change the food system.

Climate Literacy Guide

Cover of the Climate Literacy Guide. Design by Luna Creative, art direction and project management by me.

Within the communications team, I developed a series of social media graphics for a promotional campaign that was rolled out over several weeks. I also developed a packet of design assets – including a style guide and initial research – for Luna Creative at the onset of the project and acted as point person throughout the design process from initial concepts through final delivery of print and web-ready files, including accessibility.

Adobe Type

Finessing type is an important part of just about every design project I touch. With some projects, it’s all about fonts. On this page is a selection of type-focused web graphics I’ve enjoyed working on over the years for FontShop and Adobe Type.

I created the artwork for a variety of Font Packs from Adobe Fonts. These curated collections of fonts allow a designer to browse, see fonts in hypothetical use, get inspired, and sync the fonts to their Adobe Creative Cloud library so they can test them out in their own designs.

View the Wedding Charmers collection to try out the interactive viewer, and see more of the artwork for other Font Packs below.

I worked closely with the Adobe Type team to ensure that the fonts were being displayed to their fullest potential, the specimen concepts were sound, the copy I wrote was legal, the layouts were to spec, and everything would function well in the interactive format.

FontShop

I created a variety of type specimens for use in FontShop’s email newsletters, website, and online channels. Specimens show what a font offers, like commonly-used characters, alternate characters, ligatures, swashes, or other special glyphs that the font designer created that should be featured.

The below images were displayed on the FontShop homepage in rotation to promote new additions to the library. They were designed to be eye-catching and show off the typeface’s personality in a less structured way than traditional specimens.
